Nuvoda Eliminates SBR Washout Conditions and Improves Effluent Quality

Washington Township
Rated for a flow of 250,000 gpd, Washington Township decided to retrofit 1 basin of its existing SBR process to determine if it could increase capacity and prevent washouts. Over the past 8 months, Nuvoda, with its MOB process has proven to increase capacity, but also eliminate washouts.
The goal of the trial is to double the capacity of these SBR’s with Nuvoda’s patented Ballasted Aerobic Granular Sludge Process.
Sized at 250,000 gpd, this SBR was pushed to its limits during a rain event where the process saw flows of over 2.0 MG, or 10X the process design. As you can see from the pictures below, taken from each individual SBR, the MOB treated SBR had minimal solids pass through during high flow compared to conventional activated sludge train.
